[/u][/size] Willem van GentHis little whispers. Love me. Love me. That’s all I ask for. Love me. Love me.
►►Character Name
Nation ► The Netherlands
Human Name ► Willem Johannes Cornelius van Gent (but you are allowed to call him Willem or Wim :3)
Age ► 29 years in appearance, actual age is 183 years.
Gender ► Male
Species ► Fallen Angel / Demon
Description ►
He's an fallen angel, which means he still has feathery wings. His wings are pretty big, very dark grey at the bottom, gradually becoming lighter at the top. Although feathers are supposed to be light, his own feathers have become pretty heavy.
His wings cannot disappear, however, not everyone can see them. He is able to hide his wings for a little while, though, but only if he is fully concentrated. There are some mystical creatures who are able to see the wings, and the owner is able, too, due to the magical bonding. When enslaved, he wears two tight silver bracelets, both on his left hand, as well as a necklace with a little cross of ivory attached to it.
To elaborate on the wings some more.. they're magical. Wings could be seen when the sun shined, and the feathers reflected the light. But now, that his feathers are several shades of grey, they lost their reflection. Most non-humans could see the wings, but humans couldn't. Even magic users have to put a lot of effort into seeing them.
He battered his tiny fist to feel something. Wondered what it’s like to touch and feel something.

Personality ►
Netherlands is a calm, tolerant but somewhat intimidating man; this is because he's taller than almost everyone. He's not the typical sort of demon; he still believes in God, even if He doesn't believe in him. Somewhat. It's a bit complicated. He believes he's bound to earth for punishment, since his wings didn't change into the usually bat like black wings. No, the physical form of his wings stayed the same, although they faded to a grey colour; dark grey in the bottom, almost white on top. Netherlands also changed his bad behaviour. A part of him still thinks he can return if he behaves well. He regrets his rebellious years, but still fails to resist the temptations of humans every now and then.
His calmness is pretty useful in chaotic situations; even when he's afraid, he doesn't show it. Netherlands is also a strategist; he's very logical and is good at quick making up plans. Although he is a calm person, he has very little patience. Netherlands is not really a generous person and hardly a gentleman, but fortunately he knows how to treat a lady. He can be harsh towards strangers, but cares for his family and few friends, even when he shows it pretty awkwardly - or not at all.
Sometimes he prefers being alone and having everything neat. He wants everything clean. Tidy. He absolutely hates messy gardens - no overview, no control. He wanted them tidy and clear, wanted to have control over it. If there was anything he hated, it was not having control. About anything. He's also an animal friend; especially the cute fluffy ones. Like bunnies. It's one of those little things that shows he belonged in heaven once.
He's a bit of what people would call 'a lolicon'; it's a fetish about young girls and women dressed in the most girliest, frilliest doll-like clothing. He tries not to show this in public, though. His fetish is a closet one; it exists, but he doesn't want anyone to find out. Even when it's kind of obvious - and of course a few people would've found out through the years - he'd deny it at all costs.
He learned to appreciate the art of making paintings and calmed down quite a bit. He even stopped smoking drugs, he only uses cigarettes now. He thinks life on earth changed him and hopes this life is not a punishment for eternity. Especially now he has all more reason to escape this horrible earth.
History ►
Heaven was complicated. The ones who were chosen to be angels generally were really young children who had died. He was two when he fell down from a flat; he had been playing on the balcony and was really intrigued with the 'mini-people' down there. Wanted to go to them. So he climbed over the railing; but he lost his grip and fell. Dead. Only to be granted a new life somewhere else; heaven, where he quickly grew up to a child. They had found him in the Netherlands, so the other angels had decided he was Dutch, even though his grandparents originally came from Germany. They let him keep the same name as well.
So, he spent most of his life as an angel, along with two sisters. They also had a younger brother, but he was taken away. In heaven, there were no real families; angels were randomly assigned siblings, fathers, mothers. In heaven, there were families. No one was left out. But families made from complete strangers. Their family had no father nor mother; he was the eldest and thus, supposed to take care of the rest. Willem was not the typical angel; although he liked the pureness of flowers and scenery, he also liked to be free. Ultimate freedom. Instead of taking care of his family, he sneaked out, exploring the beauty on the earth. This didn't mean he didn't love his siblings, even though they were assigned and not his real ones, but he felt he was locked up, not able to go wherever he wanted to go. The sea, the air, the freedom...he couldn't resist them. Willem blindly followed his heart, not his mind and didn't saw he was doing wrong; neglecting his family without noticing.
He got curious and wanted to see more of the earth, even the somewhat dubious places. He started smoking, he got possessive, kept treasures he brought with him from his journeys for himself and got even stingy. Even though he made so many mistakes, God forgave him every time when he did something that wasn't tolerated...every time? No. He fell in disgrace. After seven and seven times...he had gone too far. The white feathers of his wings gradually went darker, until it was of a dark grey; the top of the wings were still very light. Of course, he realised this; his feathers didn't feel soft, they were rough. The gate was locked. Banned from heaven. A fallen angel. Despite all this, he still loved his family, never hated them...and regretted he let this happen.
He'd wandered around the earth for a full year, not knowing of the Magic Users. Then, when he was alone in the evening, surrounded by flowers in a valley, they had caught him. He had no idea who they were, but apparently they knew what he was. Willem didn't understand. He wasn't a monster. One of them had enslaved him, with two silver bracelets, attached to his dominant hand, his left one. They felt like the jewelery had burnt his flesh underneath it. They had also swapped his own little necklace for a golden one, along with a little cross from ivory. He'd gone really mad - that necklace was one of the smallest thing that connected him to the world up there, to heaven - but he couldn't harm the Magic Users in any way. And when he touched the ivory cross, it felt like he would suffocate. He still can't touch the cross without experiencing pain. He had been caught and brought to a so-called market.. but was never sold, not even after a couple of months and eventually the venter let him free.
Beside his realise there was another tiny positive thing about all this, though. He could finally look for his real siblings. Or did they only exist in stories?
Monster, how should I feel? Creatures lie here, looking through the window…
Roleplay Sample ►
After the strange meeting of the Nøkk, Erik Sørensen, he decided he needed a drink. How weird...he never noticed him, never noticed the strange air he felt around the Nøkk, never really heard the melody. Was he that dense or did he just not pay attention to it? Did he assume it was normal? Willem boiled the water and poured some of the instant-coffee in it from Nescafe; it was cheap, it was fast, it was delicious. Putting some sugar in it, he picked up the mug and stared at his flowers. Was the Nøkk right? Was he more an angel than a demon? But he knew he deserved this. He knew he deserved to be stuck on earth; after all, he neglected his siblings. Both of them.
He looked at the wedding corsages and he knew he had to finish them quickly; after all, he had to bring them in the following morning. He put his coffee down, turned the radio on and finished the flower brooches and packed them in a large shoebox. After that; it was almost midnight now, he was pretty tired and thus, turned out the lamps, locked the doors and went upstairs to get some sleep. The following morning he was out of bed rather early, since his costumer requested to deliver it before 8.30 am. Willem sighed; he wasn't really a morning person. Actually, he wasn't a night person either. Just call him a day person. After grabbing the shoebox and putting the bridal bouquet on top of it, he went his way.
Nethergate 66...luckily there were street signs, otherwise he would get himself lost in the town. He wasn't really gifted with a geographical insight and he never really came in this part of the city...he wondered why. After half an hour, he'll know why...
Willem was paying more attention to the street signs than to the windows, but after a while, his eye caught something...strange. A woman. Of course, there wasn't anything strange about a woman, but this wasn't a normal woman. She was standing in front of a window, wearing lingerie and winking at him. Pretending he didn't saw this woman, he walked further, only to discover that the whole street was like this almost naked woman. What...was this? This wasn't a place to hold a wedding at, was it? He now knew where he was. The place for ...sex longing people. People that didn't know love, but just wanted to have...yes, to have sex. And paying for it. Like Maria Magdalena...but times changed...and this was...just filthy.
So...this wedding...do prostitutes marry?
