Xiao Mei is relatively a small girl her height being only 4' 11" and weighing only 90 pounds. While you may find it shocking that she is so underweight it is due to the fact that she has hollow bones like a bird. as a mark of her enslavement is a cloisonne ring with a picture of a phoenix on it. Her plumage, when changed into a phoenix, is a golden red that is comparable to flames. The edges of her wings are a deep black. When she transforms into a phoenix a small circle of flames surrounds her and when they clear her opposite form is in her place. She is very fast and hates to be grounded.

Personality ►

A bubbly cheery sort of person Xiao has developed a nervous side as well. She is constantly on the look out for malignant or suspiciously benign activities and is naturally curious. Although upon first look she is quite shy she has a quick tongue and mind. Xiao is outwardly naive when it comes to her conditions at the the current moment. She is not however outgoing or ready to speak her mind. She goes generally by the rule ,"Do not speak unless spoken to." She is stubborn and quick to anger if provoked.

Although years of enslavement has not treated her well. As a phoenix she is supposed to represent justice and a new beginning when all she seems to encounter are injustices and endings for her future. On the other hand she represents obeidiance and mercy and giving people a second chance. She never has a grudge against people for too long and does as she is told.
History ►

Born in the forest she claims to be a child of nature. Never knowing her parents she raised herself in the wild. She had always knew she was different as a person. She later discovered in he life that she had the ability to guise herself as a small Chinese girl. Flying far from her home she was surprised to find herself flying into a net one early morning. Taken to the black market she was astonished at the level of other magical creatures that existed.

Her amazement didn't last for long as she was auctioned off as an avian. That is she was thought to be an avian until they watched her transformation into a FengHuang. The fire that flew from her wings as she became human and phoenix. As a marknof her enslavement the handler had given her a cloisonné ring with the emblem of a bird on it. Foolishly she put it on not knowing the consequences or the terms of a binding contract. Slipping on the ring she soon found herself ever bound to the black market.

Her first owner was cruel and kept her like a caged bird. Literally she was placed into a cage and expected to do his bidding. So instead of keeping a sick pet he released her back into the market eating a pretty penny. Since then she has learned to be a good pet. Her rules changed from get back to the forest to be good, get food. Still on the market she has learned the trade of looking pretty and trying to get a benevolent heart to buy her. She still has a small hope that one day she will return to the forest but deep down she knows that she will never return.

Roleplay Sample ►

Opening her eyes wearily, Xiao woke up on the mossy forest floor. She had been traveling for weeks. Stretching her tight arms she gave a slow yawn. Standing up she went out to look for sone food. The sun shone through the leaves casting an emerald glow over the forest floor. Finding a few berries she munched for a while before transforming. Neeling down on the ground she saw a fire spread around as her arms elongated into slender wings and her legs shortened into scaly sticks. Feathers began to spread across her body. When the fire disappeared she emergedas a FengHuang. Or rather her preferred form.

Leaping up into the sky she felt the wind grace her face and body. Popping out above the top of the trees. Hovering for a second she heard yells below her. Startled she began to fly futher away from the sound but being curious she lingered back a little waiting to see what would happen. His was a mistake she soon payed for. A wire net launched seemingly out of nowhere. Screeching she started to plummet. Screaming and crying out she hit the trees breaking branches and twig on the way down.

Opening up her eyes blearily she saw two men standing over her. Who were these people? She found that she had switched back to her human form. Tears in her eyes she was clueless to her own fate. The men gave her a ring and asked to pu it on in harsh voices. Obliging she felt a strange feeling go through her body as the bind was made. Thrown into her crate she wondered who these people were and whatthey wanted with her.

I'd like to add to that, I'm terribly sorry for the inconveniance, Taiwan. But in the Species you have both FengHuang AND Phoenix listed. We'd really preffer you only listed one. I suggested the FengHuang because I'd really rather avoid Phoenixes if at all possible. But I suppose if you can give me a good reason as to why Taiwan is a phoenix, it can be accepted.
